Mike, I wish I had been able to participate as well. I will definitely cue up for Spring and Startup Weekend Dallas #6. But thank you for your view into the process and the experience. Given the steady stream of startups, I believe market validation is critical for those great ideas to stick and for the gamification to bear fruit. I like that you took a current solution and looked at how to solve the problem & add to the solution a deeper level of value for both buyer & seller. Here's another book I'd add to the list http://www.businessmodelgeneration.com/canvas. It will get the ball rolling when thinking about the value proposition of an idea and prepping for a pitch. Good luck to your team and Bookedd. My vote is in.

That's a cool story. I had never heard of Zaarly before reading this, but I could see how it definitely has a unique foot in the field. What a neat service.

It certainly is a small world. Chip over at the Ft. Worth Social Media club emailed me earlier this week with a guest post for the blog I run. I told him I used to work for you and said he should meet you some time. Turned out he already had :)

I always enjoy catching up on what you've been discovering in the world of Social Media.

HAHA, the twitter conversation about this was hilarious. I loved the debate. I'm with you. Gamestop could have gone in so many different directions with this.

Think social media contests of planking, gaming planking, anything. If your customers value planking then why fire them over it. That's just bad pr.

Thanks for the feedback Bryce. I think many folks think it's just your resume but they don't realize how many recruiters use this site. Folks need to think about SEO for their profile.

Great tips Mike.

Having those keywords in your profile can really make a difference. I used their LinkedIn Skills beta feature to help find the keywords people were searching for and now my profile comes up about 437 times in the last 3 months.

You are right, people are underestimating the power of LinkedIn. I'm working with some executives now to help them optimize their profiles and get more from their LinkedIn as well as other social media. I'll be sure to share your videos with them.

Hope everything is going well for you. You're certainly making an impact in the social media world.
